As a member of T.J.’s Friends, what are my responsibilities?
The goal for this coming year is for each student ambassador to raise $500.00.  In addition, each volunteer will be requested to collect a few items and donate them to the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University; for example, the group might decide to collect gently used books for the Library in the Cancer Center.

Meetings
The volunteers, as a committee, will have 4 Saturday workdays throughout the year to raise funds together. It will be the ambassador’s decision (the children collectively) regarding what they do as a group to raise funds. Parents will help guide them through this process.

Does my child have to participate in the 4 Saturday workdays?
While we encourage all of our ambassadors to participate, we realize that is not always possible, the people who work will share the money earned for that day.

Are individuals allowed to do their own thing if they can’t make a workday or decide they do not want to attend any workdays?
Absolutely!  We want to encourage new ideas and T.J.’s Friends ambassadors to think for themselves in regards to fundraising for charity.

What if we are having a hard time raising the money?
Call Sarah Beth Perry and Grace Ann Perry or Holly Hawkins at 770-668-0085 for ideas and check our website to see what the other ambassadors are doing to raise funds.

Are the donations tax deductible?

Yes! T.J.'s Friends is a 501(C) 3 non-profit charitable organization and tax documentation can be provided upon request.
